Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers Of Indian Expatriate In Benue

The Intelligent Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested four persons alleged to be responsible for some cases of armed robbery and kidnapping in Benue State, including an Indian expatriate.

The suspects,   Terna Lorlu aka Rocker, 28 years old, who is the gang leader; Ternenger Terwase aka Bishop, 29 years‎; Terungwa Abasuwa aka Bobby, 27 years‎ and   Oryina Bosua aka Man’U,  34 years; all males were trailed and arrested by the members of the IRT.

Reacting to their arrest, the Force PRO, DCP Don Awunah noted that this was in continuation of the Nationwide coordinated operations against violent crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and the likes.

He noted that during interrogation, the suspects “confessed to be behind several kidnappings and armed robbery attacks on innocent people in Benue State including the kidnap of an Indian expatriate, the kidnap of one Mr. Charles, a business man at Adikpo, Kwande LGA and the kidnap of a prominent chief Tsegba in Gboko and the collection of a ransom of Five Million (N5,000,000) naira ransom paid to them before his release.

“They also confessed to the kidnappings of several lecturers and businessmen in College of Education Katsina Ala and other neighbouring towns.”

The FPRO said investigation is being intensified to arrest other members of the gang still at large and all suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.

He called on members of the public to be vigilant and continue to partner with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure a crime free society.
