  • Unity Times

Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have declared the member representing Bauchi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi (APC) wanted for alleged incitement, disturbance of public peace and culpable homicide.

In a special Police Gazette Bulletin issued yesterday, which cited CRO Form 5 from the Office of the Inspector-general of Police (IGP), the police said Yakubu is in a wanted list in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, inciting disturbance of public peace, and culpable homicide.

The police said, “The above person is hereby declared wanted by the Nigeria Police on CRO Form 5, issued by the Inspector General of Police. He is wanted in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, incitement, disturbance of public peace and culpable homicide.”

According to the police bulletin, “Anyone with information that could assist in his arrest should please contact; 08151849417 or report at any nearest police station.”

There are allegations linking the lawmaker to the recent clash in Duguri town, the birthplace of the Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed when the campaign train of the Bauchi State governorship candidate of the APC visited the area for campaign, which resulted in the killing of one person and the injuring of many others.

However, the issue has turned into a bitter dispute between the APC and the PDP which blamed each other for the matter.

The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd) has reacted to the multiple attacks on his campaign team in some parts of the state, especially in Duguri village, home of Governor Bala Mohammed and Akuyam the birthplace of the state PDP chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam in recent times.

Baba recalled the casualties inflicted on his campaign team, particularly in Akuyam and recently Duguri where three of his supporters were shot allegedly by political thugs said to have been masterminded by the ruling PDP operatives.

“In Duguri, my security details were shot, we have Mohammed Wunti. I am giving you names which you can verify where they are. Mohammed Wunti was shot in the stomach by thugs of the PDP,” he said.

But, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state chairman in Bauchi, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, has debunked as malicious and unfounded the alleged shootings in his Akuyam village home and Duguri the birthplace of Governor Bala Mohammed.

He described the alleged shooting as a war declared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar in his futile efforts to woo the electorate ahead of the governorship and state assembly elections.
