Expert Seeks NASS Support To Create 120m Jobs for Nigerians In 8 Years
  • April 11, 2023
  • Unity Times

A technologist, Wiseben Kristopher, has called on the National Assembly (NASS) to back him to create 120 million jobs for Nigerians within eight years.

He said the backing of NASS should come through laws to protect investments and businesses such that offences against them would be swiftly handled.

Wiseben, who is the head of the Nigerian Technological Take-off (NTT), told journalists in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital that the target is to start with three million jobs in each state.

He stated that the scheme is aimed at creating hubs in each state capital and bringing all persons including mentally sound disabled job seekers to learn how to make the products and services that would serve the already identified markets in Nigeria.

The NTT boss said the first step is to create a federal government-assisted bureau in each state for the selection process and to make stringent laws that would remove cheating and criminality in the kind of scheme he wants to float.

Wiseben said the aim is to create full confidence in the scheme so that whatever product that rolls out would be fully embraced by the populace and stakeholders.

He added that the trainees would be unemployed and under-employed Nigerians without discrimination and would undergo the kind of orientation and training he has in mind after which funds would be made available in a process he has already worked out.

“My strategy would find a way to place at the disposal of individuals what they needed at any point in time,” he added.

He stated that there are millions of job opportunities within neighbourhoods and communities, adding that the tragedy is that most persons have eyes but do not see these opportunities.

Wiseben said he also plans to create production hubs in each state that would produce what the people need at very low prices thus boosting productivity and the gross domestic product (GDP) of the nation just the same way most industrialised nations have done.
