Tony Elumelu led Transcorp Hotels Plc is planning to spread its tentacles to the country’s commercial nerve centre, Lagos and has begun planning to build a five-star hotel in the upmarket Ikoyi neighbourhood of the state.
The facility, a 300-room hotel towering 20 storeys, will also feature a 21-storeyed office block, with construction estimated to cost $110 million. In addition, the suave businessman is already putting finishing touches to replicate the Eko Hotel Convention Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.

The event centre is expected to have a 3,500 to 5,000 seating capacity and will be located at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel. While the delivery date for the events centre is expected to be in the first quarter of 2014, no time has been announced as the expected delivery date for the hotel project.
