MultiChoice increases DStv, GOtv subscription prices

MultiChoice Nigeria has announced an increase in its DStv and GOtv subscription prices, citing Nigeria’s current economic challenges for increasing its subscription rates.

“Due to the various economic challenges impacting our business operations, we have had to review the price of our packages to continue delighting our customers with great entertainment, anytime and anywhere,” the company explained.

Beginning on May 1, 2023, MultiChoice Nigeria will begin charging the increased rates for its DStv and GOtv bundles. The cost of the DStv Premium bundle would rise by N3,500 or 16.7 per cent, from N21,000 to N24,500.

Also, the price of the DStv Compact+ bundle will increase by N2,350 or 16.5 per cent, going from N14,250 to N16,600.

The DStv Compact bundle would increase by N1,500 (16.7 per cent; from N9,000 to N10,500).

The price of the DStv Confam bundle, which is currently N5,300, will increase by 17 per cent to N6,200. The DStv Yanga bundle will increase by 550 (18.6 per cent), from N2,950 to N3,500.

The price of the DStv Padi package went up from N2,150 to N2,500, an increase of 350 (16.3 per cent). The GOtv Supa plan subscription rate was hiked to N6,400 from N5,500.

The GOtv Max package now costs N4,850. It previously cost N4,150 to subscribe to the bouquet. For GOtv Jolli, subscribers will now pay N3,300. The old rate was N2,800.

The GOtv Jinja and GOtv Lite rates were increased from N1,900 to N2,250 and from N900 to N1,100, respectively.
