“After careful deliberation on the plethora of problems the workers and pensioners are facing, at our meeting on Friday, 5th May 2023, we unanimously resolved to resume the strike,” he said.

“From the foregoing, our members, including those at the local government are directed to withdraw their services and stay at home from midnight on Monday, 8th May 2023.”

The statement added, “In the same vein, all chairpersons and secretaries of all affiliate unions are to sensitise and mobilise their members for total compliance.”

Speaking to newsmen at the capital, the chairman, Pascal Nweke had noted that :”By midnight, our members will begin an indefinite strike over non-payment of salaries and pensions.”

He said the chapter suspended the earlier action three days after its commencement following a pledge by the government to settle the demands, which it failed to do.
