Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has paid a visit to celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, as she embarks on a remarkable journey to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time.

The event, which is being held at Amore Gardens in Lekki, began on Thursday at 4 p.m. and is set to run for four consecutive days. The cook-a-thon will see Baci take an hour break after every 12 hours of cooking, with the aim of cooking for a staggering 93 hours.

Governor Sanwo-Olu visited the venue on Sunday to cheer on the foodpreneur, urging the crowd of supporters present at the event to continue showing their support and wishing Baci success.

The cooking marathon features celebrity visitations, networking, games, and brand activations, making it an exciting and engaging event for foodies and enthusiasts.

Baci, an actress and TV producer who has showcased her culinary skills on various television cook shows, aims to put Nigeria on the global culinary map by breaking the Guinness World Record of 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds set by Chef Lata Tondon in Rewa, India, in 2019. She has spent at least 70 hours showcasing her culinary skills using various local and intercontinental recipes, demonstrating her expertise and determination.

This attempt is not the first time Baci has represented Nigeria on the culinary stage. In 2021, she emerged as the winner of the Jollof Faceoff Competition.
