FG partners Nile Varsity To Start Aviation Varsity

The newly established African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, under the Ministry of Aviation, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nile University of Nigeria as the final step to kick off academic activities in the institution.

The MoU which is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of learning, research and discovery, will allow the two institutions share resources and expertise in order to provide students with the best possible education in aviation and aerospace.

In 2017, the federal government had announced that it would establish a university to produce aircraft in the future.

Signing the MoU at Nile University in Abuja yesterday, the minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, said the government aims to make the university one of the best in the world, especially as Africa is looking to unit in all entity.

The minister said academic brief has been developed while academic staff had also been employed.

He said many countries and organisations have indicated interest to partner with the university, while adding that it is a purely digital university (on-line).

He appreciated the management of Nile University saying that “They will provide learning support for its take off. We will continue to consider Nile University as a founding partner.”

The vice chancellor of Nile University, Professor Dilli Dogo, said what the Aviation University seeks with Nile is how it can take off on Nile campus.

He said the MoU will benefit the two institutions, adding that 100, 200 and part of 300 level will take place at Nile.

“We are pleased to be part of this and will actively participate in it.”

He assured the minister that Nile University has all the resources required to carry out the project.
