After the oath of office was administered on him by the state chief judge, Theresa Diai, Oborevwori said he was aware of the expectations from the residents and that he would be a servant to all.

The governor said his reforms would cut across education, security, healthcare, infrastructure, local government administration, judiciary and public service, adding that his administration will be labour-friendly.

“I am well aware of the fact that my responsibility as governor and chief security entails meeting the expectation of our people. To advance the state through MORE agenda, to foster economic growth, human capital development and service delivery,” Oborevwori said.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members at the inauguration included Alhaji Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa State, former chief of defence staff, Alexander Ogomudia, former governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, national deputy organising secretary, Paschal Adigwe.

Others are the speakers, Edo and Bayelsa states, Hon Marcus Onobun and Abraham Ongobere, respectively, former deputy governors, members of the National Assembly, wives of the governor and his deputy, Mrs Tobori Oborevwori and Ezine Onyeme, Oscar Ibru, Chief Great Ogboru, the Dein of Agbor, Olu of Warri, Chief Ned Nwoko and others.

Earlier, immediate past governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, said there was a sense of fulfillment to hand over to a worthy successor who he said should surpass him. “It was eight years of trial, triumphs, testimonies. He must look up to God for protection,” he stated.
