Kogi Guber: APC picks NUT Chairman, Salifu, As Ododo’s Running Mate

Kogi State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has picked Comrade Salifu Joel as the deputy governorship candidate of the party for the November 11, 2023 election in the state.

Salifu, the Kogi State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), will run on a joint governorship ticket with Alhaji Usman Ododo.

Speaking at the unveiling, Yahaya Bello expressed gratitude to the people of Kogi State, stakeholders, party faithful, and supporters in the state for remaining relentless in their support for his administration.

He described the APC candidates for the November governorship election as a perfect and winning team.

Bello also described Salifu as a perfect gentleman and seasoned administrator with grassroots appeal.

He said the pair of Ododo and Salifu is a good combination of what Kogi State needed to move forward.

He stated that Salifu Joel, a teacher and public servant as APC deputy governorship candidate, will be of immense benefit to the people of Kogi State.

He charged Kogites to continue in their support for the APC, particularly Hon Usman Ododo the governorship flag bearer of the party.

In his acceptance speech, Hon Salifu Joel expressed gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for finding him worthy to be a running mate to Hon Usman Ododo.

He assured teachers and Kogites of his unflinching commitment to work with Hon Usman Ododo in complementing the legacies of the ‘New Direction’ government.
