Gov Radda To Review Songhai Farm Agreement, others

Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, has expressed his administration’s readiness to review contracts between the state government and other firms including the Songhai Farm.

This was contained in his directive to the state Ministry of Agriculture to organise a meeting with the management of the private company running the state government-owned Songhai initiative farm in Funtua.

The governor inspected both the Funtua and Dutsima sites and examined the terms of the agreement recently, reaffirming his administration’s determination to make all Songhai farms more productive.

He described the initiative as an excellent investment that, if fully utilised, would address the economic challenges in the state and boost food production.

Radda equally said his government would in next year’s budget make provision to create a water channel from Zobe Dam to the Songhai irrigation farm in Dutsima local government area of the state, and promised to drill additional boreholes to complement the existing ones in the farm.
