Nigerian singer Burnaboy makes headline as first African Artist with two albums on billboard

Nigerian afrobeat singer Burnaboy has set another record, as he becomes the first African with two albums featured on the first 100 Billboard songs.

Burna Boy earns his 3rd career entry on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with “Talibans II” thereby becoming the First African artist to chart a song on the Billboard Hot 100 in 3 consecutive years (2021 “Loved By You”) (2022 “Last Last”) (2023 “Talibans II”).

His two album charts include, “Last Last” from his Love, Damini, and “Taliban II” from his latest album, I Told Them, this also means, Burnaboy has debuted a song on the chart in each of the last three years.

Since its release, BurnaBoy featuring Byron Messia’s “Taliban II”  currently debuts at #53 on this week’s Billboard Canadian Hot 100, ultimately extending his record as the African artist with the most entries in Billboard Canadian Hot 100 history.

“I told them” is the Afrobeat singer’s seventh studio album, in his successful career, joining the likes of African Giant, Love Damini, and others.
