INEC recruits ad-hoc staff for Imo, Bayelsa, Kogi elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the recruitment of ad-hoc staff ahead of the governorship elections in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states.

INEC in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) said the portal for the recruitment exercise is open from Thursday, 31 August 2023 and would close on October 2.

“Notice of Recruitment of Ad-hoc Staff: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) invites you to apply as an Ad-Hoc Staff for the upcoming off-cycle Governorship Elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States,” INEC said.

“Portal Opens: Thursday, 31st August 2023, 8:00 AM Portal Closing Date: Monday, 2nd October 2023, 12:00 Midnight.”

Interested applicants can visit the INEC portal on https://pres.inecnigeria.org Or https://inecpres-app.com/pres-app.apk (Android users) to begin the process.

The electoral umpire has also directed applicants to click on https://inecnigeria.org/?page_id=12870 for further information about the ad-hoc staff recruitment exercise.

On who can apply, INEC has implored all applicants to visit the Eligibility Page where they will review the qualification/criteria necessary for any election staff position of their interest.

All applicants are also encouraged to fill and submit the registration forms online to be eligible for consideration as ad-hoc staff in the 11th November, 2023 off-cycle governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states.

According to INEC, applicants must not be a political party member; they must not have demonstrated or expressed support for any candidate or party and must reside in the state selected except for Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs).
