Nigerian Students Win 22 Medals At ‘Mathematics without Borders’ Contest In Bulgaria

Students of the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) have won 22 medals in the first round of the Mathematics Without Borders international tournament in Bulgaria.

Mathematics without borders International tournament is an academic mathematics tournament that aims at promoting the ancient science of mathematics and is composed of four rounds, with the first two rounds being held in the partner schools.

The managing director of the school, Mr. Feyzullah Bilgin, said in a press statement yesterday that 90 students across their schools participated.

“From our school branches across Nigeria, 90 students participated simultaneously with 23,248 of their counterparts from 29 countries, including Canada, the U.S.A., Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia. At the end, 22 of our students won 6 gold, 4 silver, and 12 bronze medals.

“We specially recognise and commend our students: Abubakar Hafsat (Perfect Scorer), Maryam Idris Bowu (Perfect Scorer), Yunus Hassan Yunus (NTIC Yobe Primary), Luis Lu (NTIC Abuja Boys), Kaosisochukwu Karsten Enebe (NTIC Abuja Co-Ed), and Oghenerukevwe Esemitodje Patrick (Bright Sun College, Lagos Secondary) for winning gold medals in the first round of the competition,” the statement added.
