The Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, the Most Rev Augustine Echema, has said Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has secured second term ticket for the office through his quality service and selfless leadership.

The cleric stated this when he received Otti during a visit to the Christ The King Cathedral, Aba, describing the governor’s achievements within 10 months as remarkable.

“I bet you, if you continue like this, you wouldn’t need any campaign for reelection for second term. Your work will speak for you. The things you’re doing will campaign for you,” he said.

While describing the governor as a focused leader with clear mission, he assured him that members of the dioceses will continue to pray for his protection and more achievements.

“Your first visit, the day after you won the election last year, which you referred to a few moments ago, touched me personally and humbled me the more.

“Abia residents are for once proud of their governor and are very happy. As the scripture says, when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. Thank you and God bless you.”

Earlier, Otti said he had started fulfilling his campaign promises which include Infrastructure development, payment of a decade pension arrears, and repositioning of the economy of the state.

“Work has started on both Obohia and Ohanku Roads here in Aba. We will do something a little different on the later because we are going to use cement pavement technology so that it will last longer,” he noted.

“I will not take the church for granted knowing the significant roles it played in enthroning good governance in the state. And this was what led to my visit to the Cathedral the day after I won the election,” he said.

Otti, who appealed for the continued prayers and cooperation of the diocese for his administration, thanked residents of the state in general for their support for him during the election.
