The Kano State House of Assembly has passed the Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) and Prevention Bill 2024 into law.
The bill sponsored by the member representing Dala constituency, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini, was considered in the committee of the whole house and third reading by the clerk, Alhaji Bashir Diso and later passed into law by the speaker, Alhaji Jibril Falgore, who presided over yesterday’s plenary session.

The centre when in operation, would dwell on prevention, detection, investigation, monitoring and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases and other related matters in the state.
Governor Abba Yusuf had in January written to the House seeking its approval for the establishment of the Centre in order to address the prevailing disease outbreak in the state.
