Bauchi Govt Postpones North East Trade Fair
  • May 1, 2024
  • Unity Times

Bauchi State government has postponed the 15th edition of the North East Joint Trade Fair planned for May 4–6, 2024.

Bauchi was billed to hold the trade fair alongside the 10th meeting of the North East Governors Forum but could not continue with the preparation as planned because “of a number of unavoidable circumstances beyond control.”

The spokesperson of the Bauchi State governor, Mukhtar Mohammed Gidado, disclosed this in a statement made available to reporters in Bauchi.

He said the organisers are working diligently to finalise new dates for these events, which will be communicated to the public in due course.

“The Bauchi State government regrets to inform the general public that the 10th North East Governors’ Forum Meeting (NEGF), the 15th North East Joint Domestic Trade Fair, and the official commissioning of the New Government House, Bauchi, earlier scheduled for May 4–6, 2024, have been postponed.

“Also postponed are the groundbreaking ceremony of the novel Bauchi flyover and the launch of the Accelerated Senior Secondary School Education Programme originally scheduled for the same period.

“This development is the result of a number of unavoidable circumstances beyond control. It has therefore become necessary to reschedule these important events to ensure the smooth and successful execution of each of the event,” the statement reads.

Gidado said the government craves the indulgence of the public for understanding and continued support as it will strive to uphold the highest standards of organisation and effectiveness in service delivery.
