The Court of Appeal has ordered the stay of execution and proceedings in the contempt proceedings initiated by former Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello against the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olokoyede, Sahara Reporters reports.
The court was presided over by Hon Justice Joseph O.K. Oyewole JCA and assisted by Hon Justice P. C. Obiora JCA and Hon Justice Okon Abang JCA.

This is in relation to a motion numbered HCL/190m/2024 pending before the High Court of Kogi State presided over by Hon Justice Isa Abdullahi Jamil in the case of Yahaya Bello vs EFCC.
The Court of Appeal gave the orders today (Friday), May 3, 2024, after hearing Chief J. S. Okutepa (SAN) leading Eko Ejembi Eko (SAN), Abdulkareem Musa Esq and David Ojogbane Akogu Esq.
In granting the orders, his lordship, Oyewole JCA held that the motion Ex-parte had merit and adjourned the hearing of the motion on notice to May 20, 2024.
The court ordered for substituted service of all the processes in the case to be pasted at No 9 Bengazi Steet Wuse Zone 4 Abuja being the last known address of Yahaya Bello.
This decision was given in the case of EFCC Vs. Alhaji Yahaya Bello Appeal No: CA/ABJ/CV/413/2024.
The 1st Motion, which was moved by Chief J.S. Okutepa (SAN) was the Motion Exparte for an order, staying the execution of the orders made Ex-parte in Motion No. HCL/190M/2024 on April 25, 2024, in the case of Alhaji Yahaya Bello vs. EFCC, by Hon. Justice Isa Abdullahi Jamil of the Kogi State High Court of Justice, sitting at Lokoja pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed on May 2, 2024.
The court granted the motion and ordered that the Motion on Notice be heard on May 20, 2024.
The 2nd motion moved was for an order to serve the respondent Yahaya Bello all the processes in the appeal by substituted means through the mode stated on the face of the motion.
The court granted the motion and ordered that all the processes be served through substituted means by pasting on the gate of the last known address of the Respondent at No. 9, Bengazi Street, Wuse, Abuja.
