Iwok made the appeal on Monday July 22, 2024, when leaders of the Women’s wing of the Akwa Ibom community paid him a courtesy at the State Liaison office in Abuja.

Comrade Iwok, who promised to collaborate with the women to boost agricultural production for food sufficiency for the benefit of the people of Akwa Ibom State, said its time for Women in the FCT to embrace, and advocate for the ARISE Agenda.

“I must say this, it’s important for us as mothers and women to embrace and replicate the ARISE Agenda and economic blueprint of our beloved Governor, here in Abuja.  Remember, Agricultural Revolution is one of the five pillars of this Agenda. And that’s why I am pledging my support to work with you to ensure sufficient food for our families’

Iwok also noted that the Governor has prioritized women’s inclusion in governance, by establishing a policy and leadership structure to fully involve the women of Akwa Ibom State in the political system.

Princess Felicia Ekpe, the Leader of the group, on behalf of the women of Akwa Ibom State in Abuja, congratulated Comrade Kingsley Iwok on his well-deserved appointment. She noted that the timing is perfect for the Akwa Ibom community in Abuja to have someone like him responsible for mobilization.

Ekpe appealed to the governor through his aide, to involve the women of Akwa Ibom State in Abuja in the state’s government activities and programs, stressing that the women actively participated in the election and the voting of the governor into office. She reiterated the need for grants for business start-ups and other empowerment programs.

Recall that, Governor Umo Eno,  about a year ago, in an epoch-making event that marked the commencement of a new chapter in Akwa Ibom’s development, unveiled the ARISE Agenda, a visionary plan aimed at propelling the state’s socio-economic growth and transforming the lives of its citizens.

The 5 Core pillars of the Agenda are: Agricultural Revolution, Rural Development, Infrastructure Maintenance and Advancement, Security Management, and Educational Advancement.
