Akwa Ibom indigenes under the auspices of Akwa Ibom Community (AKCOM), Gwagwalada Chapter in Abuja, had been given further enlightenment on the visionary plan of His Excellency Governor Umo Eno as encapsulated in the A.R.I.S.E Agenda.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation Comrade Kingsley Iwok gave the enlightenment during the year 2024 award ceremony organised by AKCOM Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja to recognise and appreciate outstanding members of the Community who have made profound contributions to the development of the Community.

At the event, the Special Assistant to the Governor said it was necessary to adequately inform the community on the A.R.I.S.E blueprint, to enable them understand the workability of Pastor Umo Eno’s administration, explaining that the initiative was aimed at propelling the state’s socio-economic growth as well as transforming the lives of its citizens.
Comrade Iwok stated that with ARISE template; the state Chief executive has recorded milestone achievements across the State in the areas of agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, security and education.
He noted that these achievements are testaments to Governor Umo Eno’s commitment to transformative governance and dedication to the betterment of lives of its citizens.
The Special Assistant specifically highlighted some of government’s impactful achievements to include building of ARISE Compassionate Homes to less privileged families in the rural areas, distribution of farm inputs to farmers, empowerment of individuals throughout SMEs, Provision of scholarship to students, UK Exchange programme for selected students from the 31 local government areas of the state as well as the one project per local government initiative where each local government benefits from government project of their choice.
Comrade Iwok stated that with ARISE template, the state chief executive has recorded milestone achievements across the State in the areas of agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, security, and education.
He assured the community that his office and the office of the President of Akwa Ibom Community will synergise to ensure that Akwa Ibom people resident in the FCT and 19 northern states also enjoy the dividends of the people centric leadership of Pastor Umo Eno.
He appreciated the initiative of AKCOM Gwagwalada branch in awarding outstanding members, saying the reward will spur others to action while also congratulating the awardees for their investments and commitments to the sustainability of AKCOM Gwagwalada. He prayed for God’s divine blessings on them.
Also speaking, the president of Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja, Barr. Aniefiok Ibah applauded the leadership of the Gwagwalada chapter for transformative development and passion for community development affirming that the harmonization committee has also noted and commended their excellent and vibrant performance.
Barr. Ibah thanked them for rewarding members who contributed in various ways to the sustainability of the branch and appreciated recipients of the awards for their service and hard work.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Gwagwalada branch of Akwa Ibom Community Chief Uduak Phillip lauded the Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation, Comrade Kingsley Iwok, the President Barr. Aniefiok Ibah for attending the award ceremony and commended the harmonisation committee for carefully selecting the awardees.
Those given the awards were Barr. Anietie Aaron -active and dedicated member, Chief Bassey Udo Nkanta – award of excellence; Chief Ambrose Obot, Pioneer AKCOM president -post humuos award.
Others were Obong Francis Wilson Akpan, Mrs. Akon Asuquo, and Comrade Uwem Okon Johnson.
