The League of Akwa Ibom Professionals in Abuja has endorsed government’s decision to construct an 18-story apartment building, Ibom Towers, in Lagos, saying that it will drive Akwa Ibom State economy and increase the state’s internally generated revenue.

The League members who were on a familiarization visit to the Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation, Comrade Kingsley Iwok at his office in Abuja on Tuesday, said the proposed Ibom Towers in Lagos and the Three-Star Hotel in Abuja are great real estate investment that will guarantee steady income to government and will remain a legacy for Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking, the president of the League, Dr. Enobong Umoessien averred that the citing of this project in Lagos is ideal being the commercial hub of Nigeria with the port infrastructure, history already there as well as its strategic location in Nigeria.
While commending Governor Umo Eno’s visionary leadership, Dr. Umoessien appreciated his administration’s efforts in raising the ceiling of service delivery in Nigeria, putting in place impactful policies that are diversified and all inclusive and executing projects that transcends regimes and social strata.
The group informed of its activities and programmes which are geared towards mobilising professionals of Akwa Ibom state extraction to support the government of the day,contributing their own quota to the success of the state , building the capacity of Akwa Ibom citizens on small businesses in the oil and gas sector, investment promotions, and training and empowerment of young graduates.
The President also explained that the League of Akwa Ibom Professionals is an assemblage of Akwa Ibomites at home and in the diaspora and is currently undertaking a project called Akwa Global Investment Project _an animal processing facility located in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area .
They appreciated Governor Eno for running an all inclusive government and for appointing comrade Kingsley Iwok as Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation and some of their members in key positions of leadership and appealed to the Special Assistant to the Governor to make his office accessible for further interactions and collaborations.

Responding, Comrade Iwok appreciated the professional acumen of the League of Akwa Ibom Professionals,Abuja and highlighted Some of government’s impactful achievements in Akwa Ibom State.
The Special Assistant promised to continually inform the Professionals of government policies, programmes and activities.
He appealed to them to continue to provide their Professional support towards the actualisation of the ARISE Agenda.
Present during the meeting were, Engr . Umo Ekanem, Vice President; Peace Akpakib, Assistant Secretary; Grace Akpan, Treasurer and Otuekong Francis Ime Ekanem.
