She recalled that two weeks ago “the Police Command responded swiftly to a distress call from a good Samaritan, thereby mobilising Operatives from the Olu-Obasanjo Division led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to the scene where the victim was met in a state of unconsciousness.”
According to the police spokesperson, the victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for treatment, and after regaining her memory, concerted efforts were further made to locate her parents, and she was safely reunited with them for proper care and custody.
She added: “Investigation is ongoing, while efforts are being intensified to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime to face the full wrath of the law.”
The spokesperson said the successful rescue operation demonstrates the command’s commitment to serving and protecting individuals and combating crime in the state.
The Command, however, advised residents in the state to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
