Afrobeats star Burna Boy has met with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara as part of efforts to rebuild a dilapidated school and improve healthcare in Ahoada West Local Government Area.

The visit, which included his father Samuel Ogulu and music executive Soso Soberekon, is linked to a planned intervention project in the oil-producing community.
The move follows public outrage sparked by a viral video from teenager Ogadinma Uchechi, which exposed the poor state of a local school and triggered widespread reactions online.
According to activist VeryDarkMan, Burna Boy has pledged to fund the construction of both a new school and a health centre. However, the project faces a major hurdle due to the lack of accessible roads to the community.
Sources say the singer is engaging the state government to prioritise road construction to enable the planned development. The initiative has drawn attention to infrastructure challenges in resource-rich communities, with calls for urgent government intervention to support education, healthcare, and rural access.
