Hopes of calm in the Middle East were quickly shaken as fresh violence erupted despite a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

Even as both sides paused direct confrontation, Israel launched its most intense strikes yet on Lebanon, while Iran reportedly targeted oil infrastructure in Gulf countries, escalating regional tensions.

The renewed attacks came hours after global markets surged on news of the truce, highlighting the fragile nature of the agreement.

Although both Washington and Tehran claimed victory, key issues—including Iran’s nuclear programme and control of the Strait of Hormuz—remain unresolved, raising fears that the conflict could reignite.
