NDC Fixes Presidential Form at ₦60 Million, Zones Ticket to South

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has formally commenced the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections, setting its presidential nomination form at ₦60 million.

The party also announced that its presidential ticket has been zoned to the South, a decision already generating political discussions across the country.

Party officials said the zoning arrangement reflects the need for inclusiveness, balance and national unity as political realignments intensify ahead of the next election cycle.

Political observers believe the announcement could reshape coalition talks within opposition circles, especially amid growing speculation surrounding possible alliances among key political figures.

Analysts also note that the high cost of nomination forms continues to fuel debates over the affordability of Nigeria’s democratic process and the exclusion of younger aspirants from mainstream politics.
