Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, has been appointed to champion the African Development Bank’s ambitious $7 billion Integrated Aviation Transformation Programme.

The initiative seeks to modernize airport infrastructure, improve regional air connectivity, strengthen safety systems, and boost economic integration across Africa.

Analysts say the appointment further positions Nigeria as a strategic aviation hub on the continent.

Industry experts believe improved aviation systems could significantly increase tourism, trade, investment flows, and cargo movement across African economies.
