The political rivalry between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike escalated dramatically this week as both men exchanged sharp words over political influence in Rivers State.

The dispute began after Wike reportedly boasted that Atiku and the ADC would struggle to secure even ten percent of votes in Rivers State.

Responding forcefully, Atiku declared that “Rivers votes are not your property,” arguing that voters remain free to make their own choices irrespective of political endorsements.

The exchange reflects broader tensions within opposition circles and highlights Rivers State’s strategic importance in future national elections.

Wike also stirred public debate by openly taking responsibility for the continued presence of roaming cattle within parts of the Federal Capital Territory, insisting that authorities are balancing economic realities with regulatory enforcement.

Observers believe the latest confrontation signals the beginning of more intense political battles ahead of 2027.
