Akpabio said the president signed the bill into law on Wednesday, May 29.

He said the president will not be delivering an address to the joint session of the National Assembly, as earlier announced.

Tinubu arrived in the chamber in company of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and other presidential aides.

Upon his arrival, the old National Anthem, Nigeria We Hail Thee, was sung.

Also at the chamber to witness the joint session are the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Borno State governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum; former deputy Speaker Patricia Etteh; former lawmakers.

There were conflicting statements from the presidency on Tuesday concerning Tinubu’s visit to the National Assembly today.
