Independent Newspapers honours Peter Dunia as Humanitarian Personality of the Year (Photos)

The Independent Newspapers Limited (INL), publishers of Independent Nigeria, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, honours over 30 of its landmark achievers, including Mr Peter Omoh Dunia, Chairman of Oceanwave Group, at the prestigious Independent Awards 2024.

The event, which took place at the luxury Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos, titled ‘Celebrating Land­mark Accomplishments’ had other Award recipients, including Nigeria’s first lady, Sen. Remi Tinubu (Woman of the Year Award), Governors of Oyo, Anambra, Imo, Cross River, Kogi, Nassarawa, Kwara, Ondo, Minister of Aviation, Minister of State Petroleum, CG of Nigeria Customs.

Mr. Peter Omoh Dunia, was honoured as Human­itarian Personality of the Year for his extraordinary commitment to humanitarian causes, particularly those affecting the underprivileged – orphans, widows, and people with disabilities – in areas such as educa­tion, sport, and healthcare.

Represented by his brother Paul Dunia, the Occeanwave boss sees the award as a motivation for him to do more.
