Active Citizens Movement, ASATU partner to foster good governance in Anambra

A socio-political organization, Active Citizens movement, has forged partnership with the Anambra State Association of Town Unions, an umbrella union of the 179 Town Unions in Anambra state.

The National Convener of the Active Citizens, Chidi Lucky Kanu said the partnership is to actively engage local and state authorities to foster good governance, sustainable development and genuine accountability among others as it relates to constituency projects in various communities in Anambra state.

Accepting the partnership, the National President of ASATU, Hon. Barr Titus N. Akpudo applauded the courage and initiative, pledging active involvement in the project to succeed.

“we are optimistic that if well strategized would tremendously addressed the root cause of short comings and challenges in governance and infrastructural development in our state, and consequently promote good governance and sustainable development”, Akpudo said.

The partnership also inaugurates the Constituency Development Committee at state and zonal levels with Barr Akpudo as Coordinator general. The inauguration which took place at the ASATU Secretariat, Anambra State Government House, Awka on Friday, March 21, 2025, had different stakeholders in attendance.
