Sen. Dickson Meets Obi, Batagarawa on Visits to Sule Lamido
  • June 17, 2025
  • Unity Times

Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, former Governor of Bayelsa State and current Senator representing Bayelsa West, paid a courtesy visit to elder statesman Dr. Sule Lamido, former Govenor of Jigawa State and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday.

On his official Facebook page, Dickson was seen being presented with an autographed copy of Dr. Lamido’s recently launched biography.

Dickson explained that he was unable to attend the official book launch due to his commitment to the funeral activities of the late Ijaw leader, Pa E.K. Clark.

He stated, “Yesterday was an opportunity to be represented with the formal copy, and I pledged 10 copies on behalf of the Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation for N2,000,000.”

This commitment, he indicated, underscores the foundation’s dedication to promoting knowledge and scholarship.

The visit took an unexpected turn when Senator Dickson encountered another prominent figure at Dr. Lamido’s residence: His Excellency Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

According to Senator Dickson’s statement, the meeting was unplanned. He also noted the presence of Alhaji Lawan Batagarawa, who was also visiting Dr. Lamido.

“At the visit, it was a pleasure to have also met my brother, His Excellency Peter Obi CON, a former governor and Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, who was also visiting Dr. Lamido. I also met Alhaji Lawan Batagarawa, who also came in to see Lamido,” Dickson wrote.
