Yilwatda, born on 8 August 1968, is a Nigerian politician from Plateau State, an engineer, and academic who currently serves as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

He was appointed to the ministerial position by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in October 2024.

His emergence as chairman comes after the brief acting leadership of Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, who was appointed by the party to steer its affairs following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Dalori, the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), was directed by President Tinubu to assume the acting position pending the NEC meeting to officially fill the vacancy.
