About 40 worshippers in a mosque at Gidan Turbe village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State were abducted by armed bandits.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday during dawn prayers, when the gunmen reportedly surrounded the mosque and whisked away the worshippers.

Locals said the abductees were taken into the forest around the Gohori axis of Tsafe LGA.
In a separate attack, another group of suspected bandits stormed Dogon Daji village, also in Tsafe Local Government Area, where they killed the village head.
Residents explained that the assailants had attempted to abduct the leader, but he resisted, which led to his death.
