Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest carrier, has unveiled plans to launch monthly commercial charter flights linking Africa and the Caribbean, with operations set to begin on 21 December 2025.
The new service will connect Lagos (Nigeria) and Accra (Ghana) to Antigua and Barbados, with onward connections to Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. This mark the first time an African airline will operate a direct air service between the two regions – a major step towards enhancing intercontinental connectivity, tourism, and trade.

According to Air Peace, the new route underscores the airline’s commitment to expanding its global footprint and fostering stronger economic and cultural exchange between Africa and the Caribbean.
“This initiative is a testament to Air Peace’s vision of bridging continents, opening new travel corridors, and enabling Africans to explore destinations beyond traditional routes,” the airline stated. “It also provides a fresh platform for collaboration and investment between Africa and the Caribbean.”
The introduction of this route comes at a time of growing efforts to rekindle cultural and economic relations between Africa and the Caribbean. The airline emphasised that the flights would not only make travel between both regions easier and more affordable but also encourage greater interaction among people of shared heritage.
Air Peace noted that the development follows its landmark charter operations to the Caribbean in recent years, including the Lagos–Montego Bay (Jamaica) flight in 2020 and the Abuja–St. Kitts & Nevis service earlier in 2025. These successful operations, the airline explained, demonstrated both the viability and demand for direct connectivity between the two regions.
“We have tested the market and seen the enthusiasm of travellers on both sides,” the statement continued. “Now, we are building on that momentum by establishing a regular charter service that will redefine transatlantic travel for Africans.”
To complement the new route, Air Peace has partnered with leading travel agencies – Tour Brokers International (Nigeria), Sun Seekers Tours (Ghana), and Adansi Travels (Ghana) – to design exclusive travel and holiday packages. These packages will include curated itineraries for tourists eager to experience the culture, beaches, and hospitality of the Caribbean islands.
The airline confirmed that fares for the Antigua, Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago flights are now available for booking via its official website, www.flyairpeace.com, or through accredited travel agents.
