YouTube has named ‘No Turning Back II’ by gospel singer Gaise Baba, featuring Lawrence Oyor, as Nigeria’s most-watched music video of 2025.

The song, which became a major sound within the Christian community, amassed 41 million views within six months of its release. It also recorded 397,000 likes and more than 22,000 comments.

Gaise celebrated the milestone in the comment section of the announcement post on Instagram. He also thanked his collaborators and described the achievement as a testament to their obedience and a sign of cultural impact.

“Big shout out to pastor Lawrence Oyor and that warrior congregation of David Generation Church. See what the Lord has done with our simple obedience. Of a truth, we shift the culture,” he wrote.

Clinching the second spot is Shallipopi’s ‘Laho,’ followed by Davido and Omah Lay’s collaborative video ‘With You.’

On the creators’ chart, actress Omoni Oboli emerged as the top creator channel for 2025.

Ibrahim Yekini’s Itelediconstudio and filmmaker Uchenna Mbunabo’s ‘Uchenna Mbunabo TV’ secured the second and third positions, respectively.

In a statement, Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s head of music for Sub-Saharan Africa, said the year was marked by “explosive musical talent and captivating storytellers” who further cemented Nollywood’s global influence.

He added that Nigerian content reached a wider audience this year, with 70% of watch time coming from viewers outside the country.

He also said that watch time on YouTube via TVs in Nigeria grew nearly 40% in 2025, reflecting the platform’s commitment to supporting creators through training and partnerships.

“Nigerian content is reaching audiences farther than ever. Over 70 per cent of watch time on content produced by Nigerian channels now comes from viewers outside the country,” he said.

“Television screens have become the new frontier, with watch time on YouTube content via TVs in Nigeria growing nearly 40 per cent in 2025.

“YouTube’s success in Nigeria is rooted in years of investment in capacity building. We remain committed to equipping creators with the skills to build sustainable media businesses through initiatives such as extensive creator masterclasses, tailored workshops on monetisation policies, and strategic partnerships with local creative industry bodies.”
