United States President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have held a crucial summit in Beijing amid mounting geopolitical and economic tensions worldwide.

The highly anticipated meeting focused on trade disputes, global security concerns and instability surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.

Both leaders reportedly emphasised the importance of keeping the strategic oil route open to prevent disruptions to global energy supplies and international markets.

The summit comes at a time of rising fears over prolonged economic rivalry between the world’s two largest economies, alongside growing tensions involving Iran and Western allies.

Global markets reacted cautiously as investors closely monitored the outcome of the talks for signals of improved cooperation or deeper confrontation.

Diplomatic analysts say the meeting may shape international economic and security dynamics for years to come.
