The Department of State Services (DSS) has concluded its case in the ongoing wiretapping allegations involving former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, signalling a critical turning point in a case that has drawn national attention.

Court filings suggest the matter revolves around alleged surveillance authorisations and communication interceptions during his tenure as governor.

While details remain restricted due to national security considerations, legal experts say the case could test the boundaries of Nigeria’s Evidence Act and national security surveillance powers, particularly regarding executive oversight of intelligence agencies.

The defence is expected to open its case in the coming sessions.
