Also in attendance was the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Lucky Irabor.

Although the purpose of the meeting is unknown at the time of filing this report there are indications that the meeting was to discuss the cash swap policy in Nigeria.

Buhari on Friday, February 3 met with the Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) where they requested that the old and new notes coexist to ease cash crunch recorded in the country.

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT), High Court, on Monday compelled CBN and 27 commercial banks to go ahead with the full implementation of the naira redesign policy, restraining Buhari from further extending the deadline.

The court restrained CBN from extending the deadline on the use of old naira notes pending the determination of the suit. The order will be for an initial period of seven days until the motion of notice is heard on February 14.
