The thugs reportedly destroyed one ballot box and failed in their attempt to snatch three others.

An eyewitness told a newspaper that the thugs came with dangerous weapons and dispersed the voters, adding that one of the miscreants smashed one of the four ballot boxes.

According to him, the remaining three boxes were saved by the prompt intervention of police who chased the thugs away and evacuated the boxes and other election materials to the Kurna Police Division.

Another eyewitness said one of the INEC adhoc staff had fled the scene with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS out of fear, adding that when he was called on phone, he said he had submitted the gadget at the Fagge INEC headquarters.

It was observed that after the intervention of police and Civil Defense officers, normalcy had returned as the people that ran away were asked to come and cast their votes.

Other polling units at Kwaciri and Kurna areas of the Local Government Area were also disrupted.
