Mother and son arrested for stealing a day-old baby in Imo state

The Imo State Police command on Monday aprehended one Mrs Ngozi Anyanwu and her son, Goodluck Anyanwu, for allegedly stealing a baby boy from a maternity clinic in Isiala Mbano LGA of the state.

The Imo state Commissioner, Taiwo Lakanu while Parading them before newsmen said that “he received the news of the disappearance of a new born baby on August 19, 2016 and efforts were immediately put in place to recover the child and arrest the Kidnappers. This turned out successful 48 hours later.

Confessing to stealing the child, Mrs Anyanwu said she stole the baby to punish the matron of the maternity whom has allegedly owed her sums of money. That she never intended to sell the baby or to do any evil to the child but a way to make sure that the matron pays for all the wrongs she had done to her.
