In a message, made available to UNITY TIMES, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, who described the current number three man in Nigeria as his great Annang son, extolled the virtues of the Senate President and prayed for his uncommon service to fatherland.

The message reads: “Congratulations to my great Annang son, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON for being elected the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as such the third citizen of Nigeria.

“You have fought a great fight and God has been with you all the way to this great and deserving success. May God continue to abide with you with grace and wisdom to continue in your uncommon service to your fatherland.

The business mogul also thanks the President, Bola Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, for the support they gave to Akpabio prior to his election as the Senate President.

“As the Atuekong Annang, I, on behalf of the people of ANNANGLAND, thank our able and steadfast President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Senator Kashim Shittima for the unflinching support they accorded you to clinch this coveted position in our dear country, Nigeria. We believe that with the synergy you three are going to exhibit and implement in the affairs of the governance of Nigeria, the ‘Renewed Hope” for a new Nigeria of our dream is not only in the horizon but is with us already.

“May I also thank all the senators that have worked with you to make this great history a reality despite all the different opinions. Democracy has come to Nigeria with full force. Thanks be to God.

“Akwa Ibom State and, undoubtedly, all Akwa Ibomites are grateful to you and happy for this great achievement you have brought to the State and look forward to all of us, putting petty local politics aside but to join hands together with the State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umou Eno, to complete the uncommon transformation agenda of the State from a pedestrian state to a state of destination to all Nigerians.

“The foundations have been laid and with understanding, togetherness and unity of purpose with the Governor, who told Mr President on his first visit to him that politics of campaigns are over and we should all work together to develop Nigeria and in deed Akwa Ibom State, the State will really become a destination for modern development like Dubai, “he said.
