Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has handed over the reins of government to his deputy, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Akeredolu submitted a letter to the State House of Assembly requesting a 21-day leave to undergo medical treatment overseas.

In his letter, Governor Akeredolu stated that during his absence, his Deputy will assume the role of Acting Governor.
The leave commenced on the 7th of June and is set to conclude on the 6th of July, 2023, taking into account public holidays.
The speaker of the house, Olamide Oladiji who made the disclosure said the Governor is a lover of peace and an apostle of rule of law.
