He said the 545 beneficiaries would receive between N250,000 and N500,000 each as start-up capital.

Lawan said the purpose was to empower the people of Yobe North which comprises Bade, Jakusko, Karsuwa, Yusfari, Nguru and Machina.

He said, “I want to use this medium to inform you that, there’s people who have no jobs, who have no business or lose their jobs somehow because of certain situations. I am sure they will be happy with this kind of programme in order to reduce poverty among people.”

Machina called on the people to continue to give their support and cooperation to Ahmad Lawan.

He urged the beneficiaries both women and men from the six local government areas to use the money to develop their businesses in order to reduce poverty among them.

He advised the people of the zone to establish skill training centres for the youths to promote enterprise in the district.
