The Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu has mourned the demise of the elder statesman, Late Vincent Ogbulafor who was laid to rest at his hometown in Olokoro, Umuahia South LGA, Abia State on Friday.
Kalu also expressed sadness over the death of Lady (Barr) Nimi Ohuabunwa, the wife of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who represented Abia North senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly.

In his message to the family of Ogbulafor, Kalu described the former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a man who demonstrated great leadership qualities, contributing to the growth of the nation through his accomplishments in political landscape.
He said the former minister of planning was a man of character, competence and patriotism whose trajectory in leadership at various levels remains worthy of emulation.
While condoling with Ogbulafor’s family especially his wife and children over the irreparable loss, Kalu urged them to take solace in the life of impact their father lived adding that he will always be remembered for his service to the nation.
Kalu prayed for the Almighty to accept his soul and grant him eternal rest.
Similarly, the deputy speaker said the pain of losing a partner is one that cuts deep, and urged the Senator Ohuabunwa to remain steadfast in God as He is the only one who will grant him divine comfort.
“The news of your wife’s death came to me as a shock. It is more saddening that she died a few months after she celebrated her birthday for where you paid a glowing, celebratory tributes.
“Indeed, she was your jewel of inestimable value, your partner and support. We can’t question God but can only submit to His Ultimate Will for humanity. I urge you not lose faith in him even as this trying time.
“While I commiserate with you, sir, please, take solace in the fact that she has been called to rest in the Bosom of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Please accept my heartfelt condolences”, Kalu said in a statement.
