According to him, a review will be made in two weeks.

He said, “We just suspended the strike. Work will resume by 8 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Aug. 12).

“We will review progress made in two weeks.”

This comes after a series of interventions by various stakeholders for the association to either embark on the industrial action in the first place or to suspend it earlier.

On July 26th, the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) declared a total and indefinite strike from Wednesday following the federal government’s failure to meet its demands.

The same day, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, met with President Bola Tinubu and other relevant stakeholders over the crisis between the Federal Government and the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

After a closed-door meeting with Principal Officers of the Senate on Tuesday, August 10th, the Striking members of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) were ready to call off their two-week-old strike.
