The Rivers State House Monday morning, via a public announcement, invited nine commissioner nominees for “screening and confirmation as members of the Rivers State Executive Council.”

The announcement states that the screening will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Hallowed Chamber, Rivers State House of Assembly, Legislative Quarters, Off PH/Aba Motorway, Port Harcourt.

The nine nominees are members of the pro-Wike members of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s executive council who resigned en masse at the height of the crisis between the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the Rivers State Governor.

The announcement, however, did not indicate if the list emanated from Gov Fubara in fulfilment of one of President Bola Tinubu’s Peace Proclamations.

Efforts to get the confirmation failed as the duo of the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, and the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Boniface Onyedi, could not respond to their calls or to WhatsApp messages sent to them on the matter.

The public announcement, which was signed by Emeka Amadi, Clerk of the Rivers State House of Assembly, reads in part, “The Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites the following commissioner nominees for screening and confirmation as Members of the Rivers State Executive Council.”.

The list of invitees includes:

1. Zacchaeus Adangor, SAN DSSRS

2. Dr Jacobson Mbina, DSSRS

3. Dr Gift Worlu

4. Mrs Inime Chinwenwo, Aguma DSSRS

5. Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, FNSE DSSRS

6. Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom, DSSRS

7. Dr George-Kelly D. Alabo FNIQS DSSRS

8. Hon. Isaac Kamalu, DSSRS

9. Engr. Austin Ben Chioma

It added that nominees should come along with 40 sets of Curriculum Vitae (CV), photocopies of their credentials, and their originals.
