Police Hunt For Buyer of Stolen Baby In Lagos

The police in Lagos State are carrying out a manhunt on the buyer of a stolen baby.

Reports have it that the baby was stolen by a housekeeper in the Shomolu area of the state and later sold.

However, Police spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed on Monday that the buyer abandoned the baby as the police dragnet was closing in.

The buyer reportedly abandoned the baby at Alade Market, Shomolu, in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

The baby was promptly rescued by the police and handed over to her parents.

“She has been handed over to her parents after they positively identified her,’’ Hundeyin stated via his X account.
