Posting, Redeployment, Kit Items Remain Free-NYSC
  • February 16, 2024
  • Unity Times

Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has informed members of the public, especially prospective corps members, parents, and guardians, that deployment, posting, relocation, and other services, including kit items and NYSC booklets on security, entrepreneurship, among others, are issued to corps members on arrival at the orientation camps at no cost.

It also advised stakeholders to beware of some unscrupulous persons that are using online platforms to defraud unsuspecting members of the public by advertising NYSC kits that the scheme gives corps members in camp.

In a press statement by Eddy Megwa, the NYSC director, press and public relations, yesterday, the scheme restated its commitment to ensuring that no corps member is defrauded by these online advertisers.

The statement noted that efforts are on-going with the security agencies to apprehend and prosecute the faceless individuals behind these ignominious acts.

The statement reads in part, “Meanwhile, as the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course starts today, prospective corps members are instructed not to embark on night journeys while going to their respective Orientation Camps.

“In case their trip is going beyond 6pm, they are advised to pass the night in any military or police barrack, NYSC formation, corps lodges, or other safe places and continue their journey the following day.

“The director-general of NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, wishes all the prospective corps members and camp officials’ safe trip to camp, and a successful 2024 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Course.”
