The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has condemned a viral report credited to him by an online platform, describing it as false, malicious.
Kumuyi, who is currently on a ministerial mission across the Oceania and Far East regions, for the global crusade was said to have allegedly commented on U.S. interests in Nigeria and denied the existence of Christian persecution in the country, a statement the church now firmly condemned stating its false.

In an official statement released by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry headquarters (@dclmhq), the church condemned in strong terms the publication by an obscure online platform identified as “Ibomfocus”, which claimed that Pastor Kumuyi had said, “America is trying to steal our natural resources; there is no Christian genocide in Nigeria.”
The ministry described the report as a total fabrication and a figment of the imagination of its authors, emphasizing that the revered cleric did not address any press conference or issue such a statement in Lagos or anywhere else.
According to the statement, Pastor Kumuyi has been away from Nigeria for a considerable length of time, leading global gospel programmes and revival outreaches in the Oceania region and the Far East, far from the alleged scene of the supposed comment.
The church further reiterated that Kumuyi remains devoted solely to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and does not dabble in political commentary or partisan discussions, contrary to the impression created by the fake report.
“Besides, Pastor Kumuyi is well known for focusing entirely on preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He does not dabble into politics, as the false story mentioned above seemed to suggest.”
“The Ministry warns all those bent on mischief by seeking to drag our General Superintendent into politics, or fabricating stories in his name, to desist from such ventures,” the statement said, adding that future occurrences may attract legal action.
The Deeper Life leadership urged members of the public and the media to disregard the false publication and to rely only on information released through the church’s official communication channels.
