The notice, endorsed by 26 lawmakers, accused the governor of actions allegedly in breach of the Nigerian Constitution.

Speaker Amaewhule announced that the impeachment notice would be served on the governor within seven days, in line with constitutional requirements.

In a related development, the Deputy Majority Leader, Linda Stewart, also read a separate notice detailing allegations of gross misconduct against Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu during the same sitting.

The move marks a fresh turn in the state’s deepening political crisis.
